Joe Fried is one of only a few lawyers in the United States who focuses his practice nearly 100% on cases involving truck and other commercial motor vehicle collisions. Based out of Atlanta Georgia, he has successfully handled cases in more than 25 states with results in excess of $400 million. Joe has received many accolades for his work, including being named Trucking Trial Lawyer of the Year for 2013-2014 by the American Association of Justice Trucking Litigation Group and 2016 Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America.

Joe is a leader among trial lawyers who focus on commercial motor vehicle crash cases. He is Chair of the American Association of Justice Trucking Litigation Group, President of the National Trial Lawyers Association Trucking Section, and is a founding member of the Truck Accident Attorneys Roundtable and the Academy of Truck Accident Lawyers.

When not handling truck crash cases himself, Joe is writing and teaching other lawyers around the country about how to best handle truck crash cases. He is co-author of Understanding Motor Carrier Claims (now in 4th Edition), a chapter author in the American Bar Association’s Truck Accident Litigation (3rd Edition), and a peer reviewed author of various trucking related articles for AAJ’s Trial Magazine. He is one of the most sought after speakers and teachers in the United States having made over 200 presentations around the country on various aspects of handling truck collision cases and trial practice.

Beyond trucking cases, Joe is known nationally for his unique approaches to developing and presenting compelling cases and for his consistently fantastic results for his clients. He is on the faculty of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyer’s College and the Gary Christie Memorial Trial Skills Clinic.

Joe brings a unique background to each case that includes real world police investigation and reconstruction experience, an education in physics and engineering, and advanced training in psychodrama, storytelling and neurolinguistic programming.

Joe graduated from Oglethorpe University (Summa Cum Laude) and from the University of Georgia School of Law (Cum Laude; Law Review).

Joe is married to his best friend and has four of the most special and wonderful children in the world. Joe has no hobbies, plays golf poorly, can’t speak any languages fluently, and lives every day in gratitude.
