Brafman & Associates
Teny Geragos is an associate at Brafman & Associates, a New York based boutique criminal defense firm. Most recently, together with other attorneys at the firm, Teny successfully represented Swiss banker Stefan Buck in the Southern District of New York on tax evasion charges. That high profile trial in November resulted in a full acquittal. Additionally, Teny is an integral member of the team representing famed “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli in the Eastern District of New York, where a jury recently acquitted him of the five most serious counts in an eight-count indictment.
Teny also publishes and speaks on various legal topics. Specifically, she co-authored an article for Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Magazine, Los Angeles Lawyer, titled “Reevaluating Gag Orders in the Era of Social Media.” In 2015 and 2016, she was a panelist at the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Complex Litigation Symposium discussing social media concerns when selecting a jury. She was also a featured panelist at Loyola Law School’s 2015 Gang Symposium, where she presented on how to use the California appellate decisions to throw out gang enhancements that add years to defendants’ sentence.
Teny is a native of Los Angeles who lives in New York City. She is admitted to the California and New York State Bars, as well as the Southern and Eastern Federal Districts in New York. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from New York University and her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles.
