She has also filed lawsuits on behalf of clergy abuse survivors in Pennsylvania connected to the Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report.  She is also licensed and practices in New York and represents over 100 survivors of childhood sexual abuse in New York with claims under the recently passed New York Child Victims Act.

A former world-ranked athlete in slalom water skiing and nationally recognized for Title IX representation of students, Michelle uses her competitive drive to champion clients’ cases.  At a time when most young lawyers are still writing briefs and carrying a partner’s briefcase to the courthouse, Michelle was trying death penalty cases with high media publicity.  This background also helped Michelle develop a unique and empathetic approach to communicating with clients in traumatic and highly stressful situations. Through her extensive experience in high profile criminal cases, Michelle learned to be a voice for her clients not just in the courtroom, but also through different news and media outlets.  She is a frequent voice in the media, from CNN to the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and USA Today.  Michelle has presented on Title IX, #MeToo cases, dealing with the media, jury selection, mitigation and the meaning of service as a trial lawyer.

Michelle has focused her practice on representing victims and individuals who have been injured or wronged by companies and institutions in the civil court system. A lot of Michelle’s practice centers around representing victims of crime in civil lawsuits around the United States.  Michelle was one of the first attorneys to file a lawsuit connected to the October 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas and her clients were part of a $800 million dollar settlement reached with MGM Resorts International in October 2019.

Michelle was named to The National Trial Lawyers’ Top Trial Lawyers list, and a Top 10 National Trial Lawyer for Women’s Rights.  She has also been named to Texas SuperLawyers Rising Star list for 2015-2019.  For the past 2 years Michelle has also been included in the Texas SuperLawyers Rising Star list “Up and Coming Top 100 Lawyers” and “Up and Coming Top 50 Women Lawyers”.
